Outernet Global, a London based media hub has signed a video production deal with Ridley Scott. The veteran filmmaker is going to work on new developments, ideas and production platforms for its branded content. Outernet, which is London’s modern media complex set to open in December, is deemed the future of urban entertainment. Having teamed up with Ridley Scott Creative Group, the company will benefit immensely from early-stage funding from several visual content producers.
Furthermore, there is a new initiative known as Tomorrow Now that will commission all the company’s films and secure the right deals with the desired brands. This will play a significant role in creating the best modern immersive advertising campaigns that will be aired at the Outernet venue. It is also a clear indicator of one of the leading and first major deals for the media hub. While it is set to secure advertising material to broadcast at its site, it also boasts as one of the world’s largest LED screens supplier.
The firm is currently in engagements with leading brands that include top publishers in the region. This includes Time Out among other brands as it aims at creating new exciting branded content. Outernet’s Global chief executive officer Phillip O’Ferral told the city A.M last month that the complex will not focus or air any traditional out of home advertising content. It will instead shift its focus on creating modern, new and fresh forms of branded entertainment content.
The Tomorrow Now platform has therefore marked a tie-up between Scott whose top productions include the Gladiator and Blade Runner, his brand’s creative production arm Black Dog Films and music production.
“Outernet Global’s extra-ordinary audiovisual capabilities will provide quality and brand new canvas for storytelling, so we need a new breed of story-teller to delivery truly immersive narrative experiences,” said O’Ferrall.
O’Ferral added that the partnerships will bring about amazing ideas on how stories come to life on screen. This is because it is only Ridley Scott that matches its ambitions.
