Gala Technology, the company behind Cardholder Not Present payment solution is exploring different video meeting technologies in the processing of payments. The company has identified some of the best meeting technologies that are fit for this purpose including Webex, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and GoToMeeting among others that are known to be the world’s first.
The company emerged first and won the Best International Card Not Present Solution service provider at the CNP Awards in San Francisco. It has been working closely with Gala Tent, its sister company and the largest retailer and manufacturer of high-quality marquees and gazebos in the UK. In its pilot program, Gala Technology was able to complete seamless transactions using video technology without face to face interactions with clients.
According to Steven Jones, a Gala Technology Commercial Director, Remote virtual meetings are now the new normal and a commonplace. Its use has massively increased across a wide range of platforms. Zoom, for instance, is boasting of users that have soared and attracted more than 10 million active daily users. This is despite cut-throat competition from top players in the market including Google Meet and Microsoft Teams that are displaying significant traction. Over the last month, Microsoft noted a 70 per cent growth of up to 75 million daily users who have also recorded 200 million meeting participants in a single day in April.
With such stats, it is clear that virtual technology is the way to go during the pandemic. It is also a technology that is set to be widely used even when the crisis is over. Virtual technology will be used as the new normal as many companies, organizations and institutions experience its benefits during the lockdown.
A report from Gala Technology notes that the video meeting platforms are predominantly used either for B2B meetings. It is not only tailored for clients, but also their families and friends to remotely engage and open more business opportunities.
