Virtual technology has proven to be one of the most valuable innovations across different parts of the globe. Today, you can use virtual technology to access different services including medical services. In developed nations, you can use the technology to run your business remotely. The city of Everett will start offering advanced virtual offering services to help you address code enforcement and parking tickets issues at the comfort of your home or workstation. In a State House News Service, Boston, 15th January 2020, the virtual hearings will be delivered with the help of Skype and FaceTime from January 21, 2020.
‘‘Any function that you have to come to city hall to do, our goal is to make sure you can do it all online,’’ Mayor Carlo Demarrias told the news service on Wednesday. ‘‘This is easier. Hearing officers see the residents, they plead their case, and a decision is made.’’
The innovation is an advanced way to help the people of Everett to save time, and avoid crowding the city hall space for retail venture services, public meetings and free work areas, the mayor said. By incorporation the technology, the city hall will serve the people efficiently. Residents will be able to use the city hall’s official website, schedule an appointment for virtual hearing, submit parking tickets, key in personal information for review by the available hearing officer and set a hearing date.
According to Parking Chad Luongo, Everett’s Director of 311, he will call the client on iPad via Skype or FaceTime, to discuss the details of the disputed ticket. The information collected is a confirmation of the details for the virtual hearings. He further added that virtual hearing is ideal for the city hall and the residents of Everett since they do not have to be present for the hearing. This means a property manager or a representative can fill in for a resident. An email that includes the hearing officer’s decision will then be sent to the resident.
Everett will join the Empire State and Sheriffs in Massachusetts in using virtual conferencing in their service delivery.
